Accelerated Reader Popcorn Party Dates!

The Library will be holding its first round of Accelerated Reader Popcorn Parties to celebrate all students who reached Level 3 in our school’s Accelerated Reader program before the Thanksgiving break.  There will be additional parties later in the year to accommodate students who reach Level 3 at a later date.  Qualifying students will receive an invitation in their Wednesday folder.  Please note that Accelerated Reader reward parties are for students only:

·         4^th and 5^th grade: Wednesday, December 10^th from 2:45-3:15 PM in the Library

·         Kinder, 1^st, and 2^nd Grade: Friday, December 12^th from 2:45-3:15 PM in the Library

·         3^rd Grade: Wednesday, December 17^th from 2:45-3:15 PM in the Library

No AR Testing Before School on 12/12 or 12/18

There will be no Accelerated Reader testing before school on Friday December 12^th due to the Library Volunteer Holiday Breakfast or on Thursday December 18^th due to the Faculty Breakfast.  Thank you!

Calling all Library and Accelerated Reader Volunteers!: Please join us in celebrating the holiday season and you at our annual Library Volunteer Holiday Breakfast to be held on Friday, December 12th from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the OKE Library. We look forward to seeing you there!

Library Book Fairy!

Will the Book Fairy be visiting your classroom? Be sure to look for your teacher’s Wish List at the Fall Book Fair.  The teachers fill their paper pocket with the titles of books from the fair that they would like for their classroom.  All Wish List books purchased during the Book Fair will receive a special delivery!

OKE Presents Willy Claflin!

Award-winning author and storyteller Willy Claflin will be visiting with all OKE 4th and 5th graders on Tuesday, December 9th.  You can learn more about Mr. Claflin and his books at his his website.  Some autographed books may still be available.  If you are interested in ordering an autographed book, please complete this form and return it to the OKE Library.

Fall Book Fair!

The library's Fall Book Fair is around the corner! The library will be hosting its Fall Book Fair from Monday 11/17/14-Thursday 11/17/14 in the library.

Book Fair Hours:

Monday: 8:00 AM*-3:30 PM

Tuesday: 8:00 AM*-3:30 PM and 4:30 PM-7:00 PM (during Open House)

Wednesday: 8:00 AM*-3:30 PM

Thursday 8:00 AM*-3:30 PM

*Only students accompanied by parents may shop in the Book Fair at this time.  The Book Fair is open to students after the Morning Announcements each day.

Proceeds from past Book Fairs have been used to purchase books, fund author/illustrator visits, fund reading incentive programs, purchase library furniture, instructional materials, and technology. Thank you for supporting the OKE Library!
